The period of infancy, ranging from 3 to 12 months, is a time of remarkable growth and development in a baby's life. During this stage, infants go through significant physical and cognitive advancements. They gradually gain more control over their bodies and become more mobile, learning to roll over, sit up, crawl, and eventually take their first steps. Infants also develop their fine motor skills, such as grasping objects, picking up small items, and using their fingers to explore their surroundings. Their senses become more refined, allowing them to recognize familiar faces, respond to their own name, and engage in simple games like peek-a-boo. Additionally, infants start to understand cause and effect relationships, imitate sounds and gestures, and begin babbling and cooing as they explore language. They become more interactive and engage in social interactions, displaying a range of emotions and forming attachments to their caregivers. This period is an exciting time for both infants and their families as they witness the rapid growth and development of their little ones.
